Lake Mead and Hoover Dam
Lake Mead is a beautiful manmade lake located between Nevada and Arizona. Lake Mead is the largest reservoir in the United States in maximum water capacity. The water impounded from the Colorado River by the famous Hoover Dam forms Lake Mead.
Hoover Dam was built between 1931 and 1936, during the Great Depression. The Dam is named one of the top construction achievements in the 20th Century. A National Historic Landmark, Hoover Dam is the highest concrete dam in the Western Hemisphere, standing at more than 725 feet above the Colorado River. With 17 generators producing 4 billion kilowatts of electricity a year, it also is one of the country’s largest hydroelectric power facilities.
Lake Mead Overlook Weddings and Hoover Dam Photography
The scenic Lake Mead Overlook is located approximately 30 miles from the Las Vegas Strip and makes a wonderful Las Vegas Wedding location. You will have your wedding ceremony and photos on a cliff overlooking beautiful Lake Mead.
If you choose to do the Lake Mead Sunset Wedding, you will also be taken to Hoover Dam for additional wedding photos. Lake Mead is a very good location for sunset weddings. We recommend only Lake Mead sunset weddings June-August because of the heat earlier in the day.

- Have your Lake Mead Wedding Ceremony (candid photos are taken throughout your wedding ceremony)
- Photos taken with your family and/or friends
- Additional photos taken of bride and groom only
- Head to Hoover Dam for additional photos (package 3 only)
